"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; the will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." - Isaiah 40:31

The Senior Adult ministry exists to provide Christ-centered activity addressing the spiritual, educational and social needs of mature adults. We use the name "Young at Heart" to identify events for mature adults, including luncheon programs, day trips, classes and forums on relevant subjects, service projects and our annual weeklong trip.

Young at Heart Luncheons

Held the second Tuesday of each month, are primarily designed as an outreach ministry of Washington Heights. They include special speakers, music groups, and entertaining programs topped off with tasty lunch.

Young at Heart Day Trips

These once/month opportunities are planned for seniors to extend their fellowship with our community. It's always a popular activity.

Young at Heart Fall Trip

A weeklong trip to see and enjoy new and exciting parts of the country. These trips are usually 4-5 nights and have included journeys to New England in Autumn, Branson, MO, Colorado Springs, Lancaster County, PA, among others.

Young at Heart Newsletter

A monthly publication designed to to keep our mature adults informed on events of the YAH and other items of interest to mature adults.

VISIT THE YOUNG AT HEART BLOG

The Young at Heart Blog has been created to provide additional photos and information that is of timely interest to our people. This electronic medium is used to supplement the Newsletter and add Internet Links that may be useful to our YAHers.

Personal Caring Ministry

Part of Washington Heights' responsibility to the local church is to reach out to those who are unable to attend regularly scheduled church programs due to physical health or limitations. Volunteer caregivers from within the congregation reach out to these dear saints each month and provide a source of encouragement to each one.
